Introduction

Hi I'm Toby, I study A level media studies.

What am I interested in?

I am interested in vast amounts of content in the media; including journalism, print and the TV/film industry. I particularly like journalism and TV/film. I often enjoy the news and current world affairs. Often these affairs are portrayed in TV shows such as the Andrew Marr show and ITV's Good Morning Britain. I believe they both illustrate a fair view and paint an image to the public through the media.

Why do I enjoy media

I am interested in the media as I enjoy being creative and having an insight, for example I enjoy the Andrew Marr show because it gives you an insight into why such decisions have been made by the government.
I relish being creative as it enables you to express your ideas about anything really. I am interested in TV or film production because I think you can express your ideas; I enjoyed the TV show Ackley Bridge. It is about an area in north England which is challenged due to a race divide, they create a school where both races mix, the show gives a good representation of some places in the world and I believe Ackley Bridge shows suggests a problem and inequality in our country which needs to be noticed.

In conclusion, the media interests me not only for news or TV but I believe the media gives you an insight into a certain perspective and that beliefs and ideas are suggested rather than stated, the TV industry allows you to see how others live, maybe another race or what its like to live in another country.
