Different types of edits in a thriller

 Now I've learned the different types of edits I have watched the trailer for RED NOTICE on youtube and these are three edits I noticed in the trailer.

• Just after 50 seconds, there is a fade-out.
• At 1 minute there is an L-cut- this is so the audience can hear the dialogue but also see the reaction of the second character.
• At 1.23 there is a fade-out but also a J-cut straight after. The character says "my my my", which makes the audience intrigued about what will happen.
